On Monday night, Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge. Just hours before that, I had the opportunity to get my hands on it.

At a media event on Monday, I got to try out Samsung’s latest flagship phone, part of a new generation of ultra-thin phones. The $1,099 Galaxy S25 Edge is quite easy to explain to the average person because its main selling point is its thinness compared to other Galaxy S25 models. It offers the same chipset, software features, similar camera specs, and a comparable battery, depending on the specific Galaxy S25 model being compared.

The S25 Edge is now available for preorder from Samsung, Amazon, and Best Buy, with Samsung offering a $50 discount and 256GB of bonus storage. The phone will officially be released on May 30.

### Samsung Galaxy S25 hands-on preview

The event I attended didn’t allow unlimited access to the phone for benchmarks or detailed camera tests. However, the specs for the Galaxy S25 Edge include a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage, 3,900mAh battery, 200MP wide rear lens, 12MP ultra-wide rear lens, and a 12MP selfie cam.

Compared to the top-of-the-line Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Edge’s specs are quite similar. Despite being slightly smaller in size, the Edge offers the same chipset, RAM, and storage options, along with the 200MP main rear lens. However, it lacks a telephoto lens and a super-zoom feature present in the Ultra model.

### What’s it like IRL?

The standout feature of the S25 Edge is its thinness, measuring just 5.8mm compared to the 7.2mm base S25. Although it is taller and wider than the base model, the S25 Edge’s weight is comparable. In terms of feel and appearance, the phone is incredibly thin and light, making it easy to handle with one hand.

To be honest, Samsung had already leaked plenty of information about the phone, so there were few surprises at the official unveiling.

The Thin and Powerful Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

After getting my hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, I couldn’t help but be impressed by its sleek design and powerful features. The phone comes in three stunning colors, making it a stylish accessory for any tech enthusiast.

Software Parity and AI Features

During my initial testing, Samsung assured me that the S25 Edge boasts software parity with the other models in the S25 lineup. This means that all of Samsung’s latest AI features are included, offering users a seamless and advanced experience.

Despite its slim profile, the S25 Edge does not compromise on performance or functionality. It stands out as a testament to Samsung’s commitment to innovation and user-centric design.

If you’ve been longing for a smaller and more manageable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge might be the perfect choice for you. Stay tuned for more in-depth reviews and insights on this cutting-edge device.
