macOS Sequoia 15.4 release with 3 new features to be aware of
The macOS Sequoia 15.4 update has been released, bringing several notable features to the Mac operating system. This update marks the fourth major update since the launch of macOS Sequoia in September. Previous updates introduced Apple Intelligence features such as ChatGPT support, AI-generated images and editing through Image Playground, an updated Siri, AI-powered Writing Tools, and AI-generated emoji known as Genmoji. Apple also made updates to the Photos, Safari, and Weather apps, and added notification summaries in Messages and Mail.
Mail App Redesign
One of the highlighted features of the macOS Sequoia 15.4 update is the redesigned Mail app, which was already available on the iPhone with iOS 18.2. Emails are now automatically sorted into four categories: Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions. This new sorting system aims to help users prioritize important messages and easily delete unimportant emails in batches. Users can revert back to the traditional interface if they prefer by disabling automated mail categorization.
Minor Apple Intelligence Updates
The macOS Sequoia 15.4 update includes some minor Apple Intelligence updates. Users can now create Memory movies in the Photos app on Macs, similar to the feature available on iPhones. Additionally, in Image Playground, users can choose a “Sketch” style option alongside Animation and Illustration styles. Moreover, Apple Intelligence now supports new languages with this update, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified).
New Emoji
One exciting addition in the macOS Sequoia 15.4 update is the introduction of eight new emoji, also available on iPhones with the iOS 18.4 update. These new emoji include “Face with Bags Under Eyes,” “Fingerprint,” “Splatter,” “Root vegetable,” “Leafless tree,” “Harp,” “Shovel,” and “The Sark flag.” The “Face with Bags Under Eyes” emoji is expected to be popular among users. As WWDC approaches on June 9, we eagerly anticipate the next generation of macOS and what it may bring in terms of updates and features.
