Latest Details on Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders
As of April 24, 2025, Nintendo Switch 2 preorders are now available at most major retailers. Nintendo’s own preorders will become available in waves the following month. Despite delays caused by the Trump administration’s tariffs, the price of the Switch 2 remains the same at $449.99 for the console alone or $499.99 as part of a Mario Kart World bundle.
Trade-In Deals for Nintendo Switch 2
Consumers looking to save on the Switch 2 can trade in their older models to receive credit towards the new console. GameStop is currently offering the best trade-in deal, providing up to $175 off a Switch 2 preorder when an older system is relinquished by April 30. The amount of credit varies depending on the condition and components of the traded-in system.
For comparison, other retailers like Best Buy and Target are offering lower trade-in values for older Switch models. Best Buy offers $90 for an OLED Switch and only $20 for a regular Switch or Switch Lite, while Target provides $25 for a Switch Lite and $20 for a standard Switch.
