Connections

is the newest word game from the New York Times that has been gaining popularity. Similar to Wordle, Connections resets daily with increasingly challenging word sets. To help you navigate through the game, we have some hints and tips to share.

What is Connections?

The latest daily word game from NYT has become a social media sensation. Associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu is credited with creating this game for the Times Games section. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices and requires players to group four words that have something in common.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words divided into four categories, such as book titles, software, or country names. While multiple words may seem to fit together, only one correct answer exists. Players get up to four mistakes before the game ends, and they can rearrange the board to make connections easier to spot. The groups are color-coded for difficulty, starting with yellow as the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
