Apple officially announces the new ultra-thin iPhone Air

The iPhone Air has been officially introduced by Apple, making it the newest addition to the iPhone family. Revealed during the September Apple Event, this ultra-thin smartphone boasts a thickness of only 5.6mm at its thinnest point. Available in space black, cloud white, sky blue, and light gold color options, the iPhone Air features a 6.5-inch ProMotion display with refresh rates up to 120Hz and is encased in a durable titanium frame.

Powered by Apple’s latest A19 Pro Silicon chip, the iPhone Air is claimed to be the fastest CPU in any smartphone, offering MacBook Pro levels of compute. The device also includes the new N1 Apple chip for wireless connectivity, supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, along with Apple’s C1X modem for enhanced power efficiency.

In terms of photography, the iPhone Air sports a 48MP fusion camera with a 12MP 2x telephoto setup on the rear, as well as an 18MP centerstage camera for selfies. Dual capture video capability has also been introduced, allowing users to record using both front and rear-facing cameras simultaneously.

Apple has highlighted the iPhone Air’s “all-day battery life,” along with the option of a mag safe battery for extended usage. The device is positioned between the base and Pro models of the iPhone lineup, replacing the iPhone Plus model and starting at $999 for the 256GB model.
