Apple enthusiasts should prepare for the release of a new HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K in 2025.
Apple enthusiasts may have something to look forward to in 2025. In addition to the usual iPhone releases expected this fall, there are whispers of exciting developments in Apple’s home entertainment lineup. Speculations suggest that new products designed for streaming movies and TV shows may hit the market before the end of 2025.
An upgraded Apple HomePod mini
Five years after the initial launch of the HomePod mini, rumors are circulating about the release of the Apple HomePod mini 2 by the end of 2025. It is anticipated that this new version will feature an improved chip for enhanced performance and faster response times.
The current HomePod mini is equipped with the S5 chip, also present in the Apple Watch Series 5. There are speculations that Apple might introduce a newer chip, possibly the S11 chip expected to debut in the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3, if they are released in 2025.
In addition to potential hardware upgrades, consumers might see new color options for the Apple HomePod mini 2. While the current options are vibrant, a Starlight or Sky Blue variant akin to the MacBook color choices could be appealing to customers. For those unwilling to wait for the new model, the original HomePod mini is available for $99 at Apple.
A snappier Apple TV 4K
The current Apple TV 4K model, launched in 2022, features an A15 Bionic chip. Recent discoveries in Apple’s code hint at an upgrade to the A17 Pro chip, promising significant performance enhancements. The A17 Pro chip is also capable of supporting Apple Intelligence, requiring 8GB of memory. This upgrade could potentially double the current storage capacity from 4GB to 8GB for the Apple TV 4K.
If you can’t wait for the new model, the current Apple TV 4K is available for $149.99 at Best Buy.
