The current HomePod mini is equipped with the S5 chip, also present in the Apple Watch Series 5. There are speculations that Apple might introduce a newer chip, possibly the S11 chip expected to debut in the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3, if they are released in 2025.

In addition to potential hardware upgrades, consumers might see new color options for the Apple HomePod mini 2.
