Apple unveils iPhone 17 with ProMotion display and improved selfie camera
At its big iPhone launch event on Tuesday, Apple unveiled the new iPhone 17 lineup. The new design features a wider, horizontal rear camera bump known as “the plateau.” The iPhone 17 comes in four colors and starts at $799, with a launch date of Sept. 19.
The new iPhone 17 boasts a 6.3-inch display with adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, 3,000 nits peak brightness, A19 chip, 256GB starting storage, and impressive camera specs. The refresh rate and front camera megapixel count are noteworthy improvements compared to previous models.
The camera upgrades on the iPhone 17 include a 48MP dual fusion camera system on the back and an enhanced selfie cam with ultra-stabilized video capabilities. iOS 26 introduces a new design language named “Liquid Glass” and features like live language translation. Pre-orders for the iPhone 17 are available at the Apple Store starting at $799.
